Dupa mai mult de trei luni de dezvoltare, HLShield a ajuns mai mult decat un simplu patch impotriva csdos-ului.
Ce "bunatati" contine acum HLShield (versiunea curenta e 1.5):
1) protectie impotriva oricarei forme de csdos
2) protectie la "born to be pig"
3) protectie la "hlboom" (un bug mai vechi care afecteaza serverele cs 1.5)
4) se poate "customiza" mesajul trimis catre atacator
5) protectie impotriva "flood-ului" care poate umple serverul cu "jucatori falsi"
6) stergerea din nickname-ul jucatorilor a unor caractere cum ar fi ` si ~
